Mumbai. Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, has emerged as Asia’s richest person, surpassing Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Adani’s net worth has reached 92.6 billion dollars, which is about Rs 8.59 lakh crore. Until now, Ambani held the top spot in Asia with a net worth of 90.8 billion dollars, or roughly Rs 8.42 lakh crore.

Rise driven by strong stock performance

The surge in Adani’s wealth has largely been powered by a rally in Adani Group stocks. Over the current year, his net worth has increased by 8.1 billion dollars, equivalent to Rs 75,110 crore. This steady rise in share prices has significantly boosted his overall valuation and helped him climb the global rich list.

  • Adani’s wealth increase this year stands at Rs 75,110 crore
  • Stock market gains remain the primary driver
  • Rapid growth in group companies strengthens valuation

Ambani sees decline in overall wealth

In contrast, Mukesh Ambani has witnessed a decline in his net worth during the same period. His wealth has fallen by 16.9 billion dollars, or around Rs 1.57 lakh crore, mainly due to a drop in Reliance Industries’ stock value. This downturn has contributed to his slip to the second position in Asia.

  • Ambani’s wealth dropped by Rs 1.57 lakh crore this year
  • Reliance Industries stock performance impacts ranking
  • Despite fall, remains among top global billionaires

Sharp single-day jump seals top position

A major factor behind Adani overtaking Ambani was a sharp one-day increase in his net worth. In a single day, Adani’s wealth jumped by 3.56 billion dollars, approximately Rs 33,010 crore. This surge proved decisive in pushing him ahead. On the same day, Ambani’s net worth also rose by 76.7 million dollars, about Rs 712 crore, but it was not enough to match Adani’s pace.

  • One-day gain of Rs 33,010 crore for Adani
  • Ambani also records modest daily rise
  • Gap widens due to sharp spike in Adani stocks
