Mumbai.Amitabh Bachchan leases three floors for ₹21.88 crore, earns ₹33 lakh monthly from nutrition company
Bollywood veteran Amitabh Bachchan has struck another major real estate deal in Mumbai, leasing three floors of the Signature building in Andheri West to nutrition company Trunativ for five years. The agreement will fetch him a monthly rent of ₹33 lakh, with the total income over the five-year lease period estimated at ₹21.88 crore. The deal comes as Bachchan continues to expand his property investments in Mumbai and Ayodhya.
Three floors cover 8,428 square feet of space
According to property documents, Trunativ has taken around 8,428 sq ft of carpet area in the building. The lease also includes dedicated parking space for nine vehicles for the company's use.
The leave and licence agreement was officially stamped on August 7, while the rent is effective from August 15, 2026. A key condition of the agreement is a 5% annual escalation in rent, meaning Bachchan's monthly income from the property will rise each year during the lease period.
The deal, therefore, will not remain fixed at ₹33 lakh a month throughout the five years. The annual escalation clause will progressively increase the rental payout as the agreement runs its course.
Bachchan has already built a rental portfolio
Generating rental income from commercial properties is not new for Bachchan. In another deal, he leased four offices in Mumbai's Lotus Signature building to Warner Music Private Limited.
The transaction, completed in March 2024, brings him a monthly rent of ₹17.30 lakh. The agreement also included 12 dedicated parking spaces for the company.
Taken together, the deals underline Bachchan's strategy of generating regular income from his sizeable property holdings, alongside his earnings from films, television and brand associations.
Ayodhya has emerged as another investment destination
Bachchan has also been steadily building his property portfolio in Ayodhya. In March this year, he purchased 2.67 acres of land for ₹35 crore from the Abhinandan Lodha Group.
The company said the property is located near its 75-acre luxury project, The Sarayu, and is around 15-20 minutes from the Ram Temple.
His Ayodhya purchases include:
- January 2024: Around 2 bighas, or 5,069 sq m, near the Tihura Manjha area, reportedly for more than ₹86 lakh.
- 2024: A 10,000 sq ft plot in The Sarayu, HoABL's flagship seven-star mixed-use enclave, for ₹14.5 crore.
- May 2025: A 25,000 sq ft plot near The Sarayu for around ₹40 crore. Bachchan also became the project's first citizen.
KBC keeps Bachchan active beyond property investments
Despite being in his 80s, Bachchan continues to maintain a busy professional schedule. Alongside his film career and property investments, he remains a prominent face on television and is currently hosting the 18th season of the popular quiz reality show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC).
The latest property deal adds another stream of income to a portfolio that spans commercial real estate and land investments across Mumbai and Ayodhya.
For context, carpet area refers to the actual usable floor space inside a property where a carpet can be laid, excluding wall thickness, balconies and parking areas. A leave and licence agreement gives a tenant the right to use a property for a specified period but does not transfer ownership of the property.

- Total lease income: ₹21.88 crore
- Carpet area: 8,428 sq ft
