Mumbai. The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has set March 15, 2025, as the deadline for activating the Universal Account Number (UAN) and linking Aadhaar with bank accounts. EPFO has urged employees to complete this process at the earliest to avail of various benefits. Updated Income Tax Returns Must Be Filed by March 31

Taxpayers who wish to update their income tax returns for the past two financial years must file their updated returns by March 31, 2025. This can be done by submitting the ITR-U form, which requires the taxpayer to specify the reason for filing an updated return, such as missed deadlines, incorrect income declaration, or errors in the original filing. The provision for updated tax returns was introduced under the Finance Act 2022 to allow taxpayers to rectify mistakes and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
